Matthew 25:31-46 (ESV)

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with

him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gath-

ered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as

a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place

the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will

say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Fa-

ther, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the

world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and

you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was

naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in pris-

on and you came to me.’37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying,

‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give

you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you,

or naked and clothe you?39 And when did we see you sick or in prison

and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you,

as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed,

into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was

hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no

drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and

you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit

me.’ 44 Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you

hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not

minister to you?’ 45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to

you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it

to me.’ 46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the

righteous into eternal life.”

Acts 2:42-47 (ESV)

42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fel-

lowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came

upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done

through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had

all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and

belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had

need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and break-

ing bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and gen-

erous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people.

And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were be-

ing saved.

Our good works toward one another and within the

church make us _______________ to people who are

on the outside.

Matthew 5:16b …let your light shine before others, so that they

may see your good works and give glory to your Father who

is in heaven.

By grace we’re saved through _________ in Christ

Jesus and that it’s not because of anything that we

do.

As Christians we ________ for one another

. never stop caring for others ____________ the church.

Eph.6:6b-7 “...doing the will of God from the heart, rendering

service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man…”

Jesus says “...as you did it to one of the least of these my

brothers, you did it to me.”

It is important as Christians that we ________ others.

When you care for others, you show ______ to Christ.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “The first question which the priest and the Levite asked was: “If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?” But the good Samaritan reversed the question: “If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?””

James 2:15-17: “If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and

lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in

peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things

needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by it-

self, if it does not have works, is dead.”

Serving _________ is serving Jesus.
