There are many opportunities for women to become involved in the life of the church while serving our Lord at Faith.
Charlotte was a member of Faith Lutheran beginning in 1962. Her cheerful service at Faith included many hours as Chairman of Faith’s Guild, Chairman of the West Atlanta Zone and Board Member at large for the Florida-Georgia District. In addition, she was a devoted Sunday School teacher, served on the Atlanta Girl Scouts Advisory Board and raised five children.Â
This scholarship fund was established by Faith Ladies Guild in 1988 to honor Charlotte Travis for her love of children, her interest in higher education, devotion to the Lord, and for her ongoing involvement and commitment to LWML. It is to be administered by the Executive Board of Faith Ladies Guild/LWML, which consists of the Guild’s elected officers and those in appointed positions.
Eligibility Requirements:Â Any person who is a member of Faith Lutheran Church and will be attending a Missouri Synod School to pursue a career in full-time ministry is eligible.
The amount per student will be determined yearly by the Executive Board of Faith Ladies Guild/LWML and will be sent directly to the school in the student’s name. The Guild secretary will notify the student that funds have been sent.
If there are no candidates to receive funds for the year, the Faith Ladies Guild/LWML Executive Board will designate funds to be given to the FL-GA District Scholarship Fund and/or Faith Lutheran School Student Aid Program (tuition for members only).
